“the Bank Job” (Official Trailer) Posted: 07 Feb 2011 03:12 AM PST
English: Info: The Bank Job is an upcoming 2008 film based on a 1971 true life heist of a bank in Baker Street, London that resulted in no arrests and no money recovered. The story was prevented from ever being told because of a D-Notice government gagging order. This movie is intended to reveal the truth for the first time ever. Cast: Jason Statham as Terry Saffron Burrows as Martine Stephen Campbell Moore as Kevin James Faulkner as Guy Singer Craig Fairbrass as Nick Barton Daniel Mays as Dave Alki David as Bambas Michael Jibson as Eddie Directed by Roger Donaldson Produced by David Alper Written by Dick Clement Ian La Frenais George McIndoe Aaron Shuster Music by J. Peter Robinson Cinematography Michael Coulter Editing by John Gilbert Distributed by Lions Gate Entertainment Release date(s) 29 February 2008 Running time 111.5 minutes Country US Language English Deutsch: Ein neuer Film vom Director “Roger Donaldson” (“The Recruit”, “Thirteen Days”, “Species”, “Cocktail”) mit Jason Statham als Hauptdarsteller. Hope you like it !!! Love it ! Hate it ! Rate it ! |
IIFA Award 2010 in the Perl of Indian Ocean – Sri Lanka the Paradise Island Posted: 07 Feb 2011 03:12 AM PST
Sri Lanka rolls out the red carpet for IIFA The 11th edition of the IIFA Weekend began here on Thursday with the host country Sri Lanka rolling out the red carpet for Bollywood actors who are participating in the extravaganza despite calls to boycott the event. Stars such as Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan are participating in the controversy-ridden event which has been boycotted by the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce as a mark of protest against the alleged mistreatment of the Tamils in the country. The arriving stars were given a warm welcome by the Lankan fans at the Bandaranaike International Airport today. Roads leading from the airport at Katunayake to Colombo were manned by police and army personnel and a pilot vehicle escorted all guests along the hour long drive from the airport to the city. For the first time, IIFA brand ambassador Amitabh Bachchan is not attending the three-day event which has come to be known as the ‘Bollywood’s Oscars’ outside Indian shores. The megastar is currently shooting in Gujarat while his actor son Abhishek is in Istanbul for a film shoot and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai is in Paris to promote a brand. Shah Rukh Khan who has not attended the IIFA weekends since 2005, has decided to give it a miss this time as well citing the ongoing production of Ra.one. But Sri Lankan cricket captain Kumar Sangakara applauded the film personalities for their “courage and conviction” in coming to Colombo despite obstacles. Sangakara who will … |

NASA | New Eye on the Sun Delivers Stunning First Images Posted: 07 Feb 2011 12:53 AM PST
This compilation of video shows some of the first imagery and data sent back from NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO). Most of the imagery comes from SDO’s AIA instrument, and different colors are used to represent different temperatures, a common technique for observing solar features. SDO sees the entire disk of the Sun in extremely high spacial and temporal resolution and this allows scientists to zoom in on notable events like flares, waves, and sunspots. Enjoy the imagery and post in the comments the parts you found most captivating. To learn more about the SDO mission, visit: sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov To find these videos for download, check out www.nasa.gov svs.gsfc.nasa.gov Launched on Feb. 11, 2010, SDO is the most advanced spacecraft ever designed to study the sun. During its five-year mission, it will examine the sun’s magnetic field and also provide a better understanding of the role the sun plays in Earth’s atmospheric chemistry and climate. Since launch, engineers have been conducting testing and verification of the spacecrafts components. Now fully operational, SDO will provide images with clarity 10 times better than high-definition television and will return more comprehensive science data faster than any other solar observing spacecraft. The Great American Actress Laurette Taylor; Rare Film Appearances 1922 & 1938 Posted: 07 Feb 2011 12:50 AM PST
Laurette Taylor (born April 1, 1884, or according to some sources, a year earlier, in 1883, died December 7, 1946) was an American actress of stage and silent films. Although she only appeared in a handful of movies, she is considered one of the most influential stage actresses of all time, being an inspiration to such acting legends as Katharine Hepburn, Marian Seldes, June Havoc, Martin Landau, Uta Hagen, Maureen Stapleton and Ben Gazzara. Taylor began attracting critical acclaim virtually from her first known performance on Broadway in The Great John Ganton in 1908 and building her reputation in such stage productions as The Ringmaster, Alias Jimmy Valentine, Seven Sisters, Lola Lola, and The Bird of Paradise. Peg o’ My Heart, which ran on Broadway from December 20, 1912 to May 1914 (a total of 603 performances) cemented her fame and reputation with audiences as a skilled actress. She toured the nation with the play, which reopened on Broadway at the Cort Theater on February 14, 1921, and ran for another 692 performances. She achieved great success starring in such other productions as Out There, One Night in Rome, The Wooing of Eve and the special production, Laurette Taylor in Scenes From Shakespeare. In the latter production, she performed scenes from Romeo and Juliet, The Merchant of Venice, and The Taming of the Shrew. Few of Taylor’s performances have been preserved on celluloid. Taylor planned to make her film debut in Peg o’ My Heart, but the film version of … |
